Service Description

The single most important tool to use during pregnancy and birth is the breath! The single most important foundation for a healthy body and baby is exercise. In this workshop we focus on learning proper breathing mechanics and strengthening your pelvic floor and the diaphragm – the muscle of the respiratory system. A more functional breath will address: back pain, lessening the sensation of contractions, decompressing the spine and increasing fluid exchange in lumbar spinal discs, and fatigue. A lack of oxygen when pregnant can lead to heart palpitations, nausea, and increased blood pressure. And learning to breath naturally removes toxins from the body and away from baby. Connection with the pelvic floor can help to avoid prolapse and incontinence and you will learn how to relax those muscles to allow baby to pass through the birth canal naturally! Thursday March 7th, 2024 6 - 8 pm. $20. Spouses/birth partners may attend with you at no extra charge (please indicate if you will have a partner attending in the notes when you register). Please wear comfy clothes, bring a yoga mat if you have one, water and anything else you need to be comfortable. This class is appropriate for all trimesters! Kimberly Oen is a birth doula, HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor, Pre and Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist/Diastasis Recti and Core Consultant, and Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher.
