As a naturopath I specialize in wellness focusing on the underlying root cause of disease. Symptoms are your bodies expression of an imbalance. This consultation is to assess your health or address a specific pathology and formulate a plan to better health based on naturopathic medicine. This consultation can also be used to assess blood work, identify functional testing which needs to be done to identify imbalances, or focus on a specific diagnosis given to you by your care provider. Because Naturopathic Medicine utilizes your bodies own healing process, together we identify natural holistic approaches which facilitate the body’s own natural healing and health building potential. I do not undertake to “diagnose” or “treat diseases,” and therefore do not prescribe pharmaceuticals which are toxic to the bodies natural healing process. We find and "treat" the root cause. Sub-health conditions are usually cumulative effects creating “disease” (or, “dis-ease”). These biological imbalances lead to a weakening of the bodies natural defenses and subsequent breakdown in health. I use a whole body approach that integrates standard medical sciences with natural therapies. For example a treatment plan may include: Nutrition and lifestyle counseling Herbal (botanical) medicine and supplements Stress reduction techniques Mind-body interventions Manipulative therapies such as CFT, BioMat and Raindrop treatments Homeopathy Stool or comprehensive wellness testing Hormone testing Naturopathy is useful for many different areas, ranging from physical pain to disease pathologies to mental health conditions. It can be used as treatment method for a plethora of conditions, including (but not limited to): physical conditions such as back pain, injuries, Arthritis, Chronic pain, Diabetes, High blood pressure, Asthma, COPD, Alzheimer's disease, Autoimmune disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Heart Disease and Obesity.
