Striving, thriving, growing and giving back!
Just Breathe Health and Wellness opened its doors June 1st, 2014 as the first yoga studio supporting Minster and surrounding communities. Since then it has grown from 4 girls with visions into a total of 8 certified instructors with various passions.
Kimberly Oen of New Bremen, founder and owner had the space at 4249 St Rt 66 in Minster Plaza built from a space which had been vacant for years. Her vision was to build a space for community, healing and offerings of classes and wellness therapies unique to the community. After years of having a traveling studio in the trunk of her car, she yearned to have a permanent place for her yoga mat. When she closed her Curves in 2017, she knew the fitness model of working out with just machines needed to evolve. Machines lock you into a predetermined path of motion, which takes away the ability to challenge and strengthen core and stabilizer muscles, She wanted to offer classes that were functional. Functional fitness = strength, flexibility and balance in daily living!
"Your body is perpetually in motion and it is designed to move! But your body needs to move in different patterns to maintain a healthy range of motion. The 37 trillion cells that comprise our bodies are tiny universes conjoined within and confined inside our skin. Be mindful of your movements in a day. Move so you stay flexible and juicy!
In 2008 Kimberly began her professional training as a registered Yoga teacher and completed a 200-hour program in 2014 and became a nationally registered yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance, a non-profit registry for teachers. A teacher at heart and wanting to share her love of yoga, she then became a Registered Yoga School and has graduated 20 RYT’s over the past 4 years and is a Continuing Education Provider for teachers. She now continues her journey with a 500-hour certification through YogaFit International. Along the way she has certified in Trauma Sensitive Yoga (Yoga Warriors Program) and in Holistic Health Coaching through the ACE institute and is training to be a Yoga Therapist. Three of her current teaching staff graduated from her school.
Along with her yoga training, she is a Doula (Labor and Delivery coach) and is certified as a Pre- and post-natal Corrective Exercise Specialist along with a Diastasis Recti and Core Consultant through Fit for Birth. She is also a Cancer Exercise Specialist through the Cancer Exercise Institute and works privately and in small groups with survivors and warriors.
Her teaching staff consists of Lynne Siegrist from Minster, a Registered Yoga Teacher, group fitness and TRX Qualified Trainer and Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner, Allison Heitkamp also from Minster, a Personal Trainer, Dr. Amanda Eilerman from Minster, a Registered Yoga Teacher, Kristine Kramer from Maria Stein, Group Exercise Specialist and TRX Qualified Trainer, Diane Gross from St. Marys, Registered in both Yoga and Aerial Yoga, Nicole Hoehn also from St Marys, a Registered Aerial Yoga Teacher, and Mollee McCullough, from Minster, a Registered Aerial Yoga Teacher and TRX Qualified Trainer.
